CO2C6: French Expertise in Carbon Certification and Optimization
CO2C6 is an engineering consultancy specializing in carbon certification and optimization, based in Morbihan, France.
Founded in 2023 by Tristan de Lestapis – a nationally and European-recognized expert – the company is committed to a proactive approach to reducing the carbon footprint and promoting renewable energy.
Tristan de Lestapis
Before founding CO2C6, Tristan de Lestapis worked as a consultant for an energy distributor, assisting in the implementation of the European RED II directive (2018/2001), which was transposed into French law in December 2021.
Since then, the company has been supporting renewable energy producers – including cogeneration and methane plant operators, biomass boilers, TCR, WTE, ISDND, CSR, CO2 liquefaction, LNG, and green hydrogen – as well as brokers, traders, and waste processors in obtaining annual certifications, managing mass balances, and accurately calculating Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions to achieve control over sustainable energy production.
Our tailored approach is based on active listening and a thorough analysis of each client’s carbon situation.
We identify optimization levers to sustainably reduce energy consumption and lower GHG emissions, while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and technological advancements in renewable energy.
In collaboration with industrial players and subsidiaries specialized in New Renewable Energies (NRE), CO2C6 offers bespoke solutions that meet legal obligations and support the reduction of fossil fuel dependency.
Our mission is to guide businesses towards a successful energy transition by sharing our technical expertise and proposing innovative strategies for a greener, more responsible future.
CO2C6 is committed to supporting companies in their transformation towards a reduced carbon footprint and more sustainable practices, actively contributing to the fight against climate change.

Certification of Renewable Energy Producers:
Excellence in sustainability and european compliance

Our service rigorously certifies renewable energy producers from methanization to cogeneration:
-
GTC (Gas Turbine Combustion)
-
WTE (Waste-to-Energy Unit)
-
NHWSDF (Non-Hazardous Waste Storage and Disposal Facility)
-
RDF (Refuse-Derived Fuel)
-
CO² Liquefaction (food and non-food)
-
LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas)
-
Green hydrogen
These procedures are carried out by evaluating the sustainability of biomass according to European standards.
Co-treatment is yet to be developed with you and your current producers.
We align our approach with RED II and RED III directives, as well as the Fit for 55, RepowerEU, and Green Deal initiatives.
We anticipate with you the arrival of the CBAM (Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism), along with CSRD or OMNIBUS, and the future taxation of energy.
We prioritize small biomass producers by helping them revitalize unused lands, optimize biodiversity, and increase CO₂ absorption by vegetation, as confirmed by several ScienceDirect Biomass and Nature Energy studies.
Through a rigorous certification process, we offer businesses comprehensive support to comply with regulatory requirements and adopt eco-responsible practices, ensuring certified green energy production and a sustainable energy transition.

Optimization of Greenhouse Gas Reductions:
Support for a Minimized Carbon Footprint

At the heart of our offering, CO2C6 supports micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (TPE, PME, and PMI) in reducing their carbon footprint.
We conduct a thorough analysis of your carbon balance, identify energy-intensive areas, and offer tailor-made solutions to optimize energy efficiency.
In line with the European RED II and RED III directives, our approach integrates innovative technologies and eco-responsible practices, which are essential to anticipate the evolution of carbon taxes and future regulations.
We work closely with experts and partners to guide medium- and long-term technical investments, relying on recognized scientific studies such as those published by the IPCC and available on ScienceDirect.
